switching between wireless/wired nic at home/office

At home I use my wireless nic and at work I use my wired nic, eth1 and
eth0 respectively. Both are set to use dhcp in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf

When I come home and boot up my system with my pcmicia wnic plugged in my system stalls out trying to get ip for eth0. What I usually do to get around this is to edit the:

Code:
USE_DHCP[0]="yes"
in rc.inet1.conf and then change it to:

Code:
USE_DHCP[0]=""
I do this before I leave for home and then change it back, but if I forget(which I usually do) then I have to wait and waiting sucks so how do I get around this problem?

Here you go. I use this myself:

Also get these:
http://www.slackware.com/~alien/rc_scripts/

With all that, it does EXACTLY what you wish it to

You could alternatively leave everything how you have it except change the DHCP timeout option on your ethernet cards. If you change the DHCP timeout you'll be able to have it check for the required networks at start, and if it's not detected it'll stop after the specified timeout seconds.

In your /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf file change DHCP_TIMEOUT[4]=5 value to what ever you need.
