swfdec with firefox
Hi all,
Sorry, I realise that I have posted a large amount of threads in a short amount of time, this must be tedious for seasoned Slackers. Still, people can learn from it in the future,
So, I have just installed swfdec via SlackBuilds, and am not sure how to get Firefox to recognise it as a plugin.
Do I have to symlink anywhere that you know of?
Thanks, again.

Hi,
You can create a symlink in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins (or /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins if you're using Slack64)

Hi,
I haven't used swfdec but there should be installed in /usr/lib (or /usr/lib64) as any other Slackware library.

Hi, using slocate, I have the following files in the /usr/lib directory:-
Code:
/usr/lib/libswfdec-gtk-0.8.so.0
/usr/lib/libswfdec-0.8.so.0.0.0
/usr/lib/libswfdec-gtk-0.8.so
/usr/lib/libswfdec-0.8.la
/usr/lib/libswfdec-0.8.so.0
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/swfdec-gtk-0.8.pc
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/swfdec-0.8.pc
/usr/lib/libswfdec-gtk-0.8.la
/usr/lib/libswfdec-0.8.so
/usr/lib/libswfdec-gtk-0.8.so.0.0.0
Which should I symlink? I assume it would be one of the *.so files, right?
Regards,
Jack Hunt

Hi,
As I've told you, I don't use swfdec, but looks like you need to install also swfdec-mozilla and symlink the libswfdecmozilla.so to the mozilla plugins directory.

Hello dear Slackware user,
Try this command in your mozilla firefox plugins folder,
ln -s /usr/lib/libswfdec-8.0.so
Reply if this doesnt work,
Cheers,
