Swedish letters in java

Hi all!
I'm having a really anoying problem. I'm using my laptop (a compaq evo n200) in my company to do some acouning etc. I'm using slackware 9.1 with fluxbox as my X-window manager. So now to the problem. When I install java everything goes just fine. The problem begins when I try to run Jedit or any other javaprogram and use swedish letters. I only gett boxes. Wonder if there's anyone else here that may have experienced the same issue?

Hoping for a quick answer.
