"swaret --upgrade" safe?
Hi All,
Is "swaret --upgrade" safe? I notice it upgrades a LOT of stuff including glibc. I currently have VERSION=current.
Thanks again!
Sam

I use it all the time and I have had no problems.
If you are on the current version, then you are as up to date as you can be. Or do you mean that you are running 9.1 and swaret.conf is set to 'current'?
Either way, I've had no problems.

I have 9.1 and swaret.conf is set to current.
I just have to say.... I love slackware, and I love swaret.
Debian has nothing over this combo!

It can do sources too, just do (for example)
swaret --get kdelibs -s
Then cd /var/swaret/sources and there's a script called "kdelibs.slackBuild", make it +x and run it and it build it for you!

let me get this straight:
You can use swaret to get the latest sources.You can use the script that is inside for the build.Then you can use checkinstall to install them as packages so that you know what you have.. and everything is cool, right ?

Beavis: (passing his hand over the IR sensors on the auto-flush urinals) YEAH, YEAH!
Butthead: (with awe) This is the coolest thing I have ever seen...

I would put swaret on-par with the auto flush. I had no idea you could use it to build from source. NICE!!!
