swaret and missing libs

hi there,

can you guide me how to install/upgrade my missing libs using swaret?
i used this:
Code:
bash-3.00# swaret --dep -a
swaret 1.6.3-2

You can also set DSEARCHM to 1,
if you want swaret to use 'slocate',
instead of using 'find'. (works MUCH faster)
Please, remember to use 'updatedb' regularly

It's also telling you what packages it thinks you need...

Note that if you are running -current, this may be an issue with not running the latest Xorg. If so and you already have a modified Xorg (say, from Dropline), you will need to look at the provider of your Xorg package (Hint: Dropline offers an extra of Xorg 6.9 that helps IF you are running Dropline. Otherwise, use the 6.9 from -current).

If it's not a problem with an old Xorg, then:

Code:
swaret --update
swaret --list cairo
And so on for each package name. Update those that need updating. You'll be checking:

cairo
pango
readline
imagemagick
koffice

Also, you'll want to check out aaa_elflibs, but it is generally advised not to upgrade it. Use the package browser on the main Slackware site to see if there are other packages with libreadline.so.5. It will probably be taken care of with the latest readline package already.

Swaret seems to be useful when you begin to be a slacker. But you should try to get and install dependencies manually as it's less dangerous for your system.
