SVGALIB permissions different depending on kernel 2.4 or 2.6?
I just discovered that the permissions on SVGALIB differ depending on the kernel used, in Slackware 11 RC4. I tried to run links in graphical mode on a console (not an xterm or so, but the console, really)
$ links -g http://www.slackware.com 2.4.33.3 As user: Error message, insufficient privileges. As root: Works just fine! 2.6.17.7 Works like a charm as user as well as for root. Does that make sense to anyone? What's the reason behind this? gargamel |
