Question svgalib I/O permission as user

I am trying to start programs like links -g and seejpeg from the command line but I get I/O permission denied errors. I looked around on the man page for svgalib and i searched the forums but nothing came about. Does anyone know how to make it so I can use svgalib as a user?

Also I CAN run these programs after an SU but I would prefer not to do that.

Ok I did a few hours research on the subject and I found a solution.

a simple

Code:
chmod u+s /usr/bin/links
as root, did the trick. Now I can finally use a graphical web browser from the command line.
(don't ask why, i just wanted to figure out how to do it)

the development version uses a helper module
that doesn't require you to suid everything

I'd even suggest using sudo instead of SUIDing binaries.
It is more secure IMHO
