SuSE hijacked my machine

Ok, Last night I downloaded the SuSe's install disks.Curious as to why its the most popular linux distro.Reworked my Partitions with "Partition Magic" and Installed after work, noticed it used grub during installation, cool, I always liked grub more than Lillo.Never had time to install it though.

I used the Swap from my slackware partition, SuSE required Swap, again, no big deal.If I wanted to keep SuSe I was gonna use partition magic to fix that.
But when I installed SuSE I noticed Slackware didnt show up in the grub menu, just linux (SuSE) and Windows. Wasnt Impressed with SuSE, to say the least..Was gonna need to compile the kernel to get online.Reminded me too much of Mandrake.
Booted back into Windows, used Partition Magic to delete the SuSE partition and move the unused space around, booted into the slackware disk, cfdisk to fix my swap partition.I rebooted to make sure everything was ok.
GRUB was still there and its not picking up my Slackware partition or my windows partition.I guess SuSE installed GRUB to the MBR without me noticing, overwriting LILO.
I tried reinstalling Lilo from my slackware disks, dont think I can without reinstalling slack.

Great, now Im stuck on my Knoppix Live cd.
<never ending rant, sorry./>

How can I reinstall Lilo over GRUB without losing my slack partition? As of right now, I can only access my computer with Knoppix.
Both my windows/slackware 10 partitions are still there, I can write to my slack partition under knoppix but Im not sure if its gonna help, GRUB had to have been installed to the MBR.

appreciate any help

Boot into Knoppix. Knoppix will mount your Slackware / partition as read only so umount the Slackware / partition. I will assume that your Slackware partition is on hda3 and is formated ext3.

mkdir /horse
mount -t ext3 /dev/hda3 /horse
chroot /horse
lilo
shutdown -r now

boot to the slack partition with the slack 10 disk. at the promp enter:

bare.i root=/dev/hda1 noinitrd ro (replace bare.i with the kernel you want and hda1 with the root of the slack partition)

that will boot you into slack.

if you originally installed lilo to the mbr, then running lilo will reinstall it to the mbr.

Thanks.

All is good now.

Yes, Lilo was originally installed to MBR, less of a hassle untill something like this happens.
