Hi!
I gues you use the via audio card integraded into the motherboard, is it so?
If it is so you must know that this is actually pseudosurround because it is enabled only by software. If you wanna have real surround your audio card must provide you with 3 output lines. One for front pair one for rear and one for centre/subwoofer.
Yoy have output only from the front pair + subwoofer because the other pairs are plugged into the mic and the line in jack...
Anyway give some specification about your card and motherboard, maybe I can help you...

P.S. Have you tried alsa?

yes a have tried alsa but with no effect
my sound cart supports 5.1 channel sound but only when i'm using windows
the sound cart i integrated on on motherboard kt600-a and supports 3 output lines
and if i use windows it's OK everything is working but on linux i don't have surround
if you know how to fix this please help
for the alsa :
i've installed the alsa -driver , lib , utils
but to make my surround work i think i have to make something whit the
.asoundrc file
the think is that i'm new to linux and i can't do it
i've found what i have to type in the file but can't do it
if the .asoundrc is the solution please help with it

You might want to try the alsaconfig? program i think, it tries to autodetect your card.

Also please don't post the same thread multiple times, I noticed you posted the same thing earlier.
