suggestion for minimal install for xmame use

Hello,
I would like to install a minimal slackware10 optimized for xmame, but I need suggestion as to what files i need to install in a,ap, d,l just boot in to console w/ out xwindows and I won't be needing files for lan, usb, modem devices since it will only be use for xmame only.

the only apps needed for console are:
svgalib1.9.25 or framebuffer
xmame
alsa (for sound card support)

You should be fine just installing everything in the the A and X sets, the bare necessities in AP (alsa-utils, an editor, rexima?), any sound-related stuff in L, and maybe a select handful of XAPs (such as a lightweight WM for convenience).

Optimization? You may also want to install the D set and build xmame and other often-used applications from source with some optimization settings. Try this page from the Gentoo installation docs for the basics of what gcc flags/options to use.

In addition, I'd strongly urge you to take a look at this guide, especially the sections about X.

Hope any of that helps. :)
