Stupid: deleted kernel source but need config
I wanted to make a new kernel since I was getting a lot of trouble with alsa and nvidia (module.ko won't load) I deleted the kernel source from /usr/src and downloaded a fresh kernel from kernel.org My running kernel is 2.6.0 and the new one will be the same. I wasn't thinking about the config so now I'm stuck with a clean kernel with standard option. Is there a way to see what I configured in the running kernel? The kernel works fine and want to keep it that way with the new one!

make oldconfig
this will use the config file in /boot and set the new kernel to what you had before..........that is if it's still there. |
