strange sound issues


I got some strange problem with sound in Q3A
in fact I've installed the game as root and when I launch it as root everything's right
but when I launch it from my user account then no sound ....
where this can come from?

Hello:
Try this, logged as root

chmod 666 /dev/dsp* /dev/mixer*
