strange messges when closing X

Whenever I exit from an X session, (I have tested with Fluxbox and KDE) my screen does something strange, their is a crackling noise from the pc speaker and the screen is filled with messages such as:

"Failed to read: session.screen.0.toolbar.height
Setting default value
Failed to read: session.screen0.iconbar.usePixmap
Setting default value"

and finishes with:

"Warning: Failed to open file(/usr/X11R6/share/fluxbox/nls/en_US/fluxbox.cat)
for translation, using default messages.

waiting for X server to shut down"

This is a fresh install of Slackware 10.2 kernel 2.4.31. I have run xorgconfig and am logged in as root.

The only other problem I am having which is probably unrelated is that when moving my mouse around it sometimes jumps and clicks without me doing so. This could be that I need a new mouse. Just thought I'd mention it in case there is any connection with these strange messages I get when leaving X.

Anyone know what this is about and what I can do about it? Seems strange considering that this is a fresh install.

x errors

the errors happened the first time i ran X as well, could be because many of the parameters aren't initialized yet. they disappeared after the first time though.

as for
Quote:
"Warning: Failed to open file(/usr/X11R6/share/fluxbox/nls/en_US/fluxbox.cat)
for translation, using default messages.
looks like a localization file that's not there. but since it still manages to give out it's messages in english, i dont pay it much attention.

dunno about your mouse and the crackling sound from your speakers though.

All I can think of is that those values may not be set. That is why it uses default ones. As for failed to open, check the permissions on the file and folders, so that it can be read/write and traversed. Since I had a simmialr kind of problem, that is what I think. Do stat / and then stat on all the folders and check the perms.

Look at ~/.fluxbox/init file

well, since it was the first time he ran it, it didn't exist yet, which is the cause of the errors that came out in the first place. wont happen on the next invocation of X though.
