strange error


well just made to work may nic
when i start kde in tty i keep receiving this message constantly on the temrinal

unix_connect: cant connect to server (unix:/tmp/mcop-root/sima_fibertel_com_ar_XXXXX....
Launched ok, pid = XXXX
There are already artsd objects registered, looking if they are active....
... cleaned 5 unused mcop global references

XXX replaces random numbers

have any idea what can it be?

Hi

as root, try..

"cd /tmp/mcop-root"

"rm .*"

then run alsaconfig, alsamixer, then alsactl store.

any problems let me know.

okey my problem now seems to be something called artsd
what is it exactly? apparently this program continues creating some Art_* files in /tmp/mcop folder
how can i stop it from running?

alsaconf cant find my sound card.. not sure why, it did it before

Hi

artsd is the sound daemon for kde.

try reinstalling the modules for your kernel version from slackware.com then rerun alsaconf.

i commented some lines in my modules.conf and problem seems to be solved
