store aumix volume settings

Hello

I do not use alsa for my sound and it works fine . The problem is the usual

loss of the volume settings after a reboot . what i did was

1) aumix and set the volume
2) cp .aumixrc ( aumix settings file ) to /etc/rc.d
3) within /etc/rc.local typed aumix -L
4) chmod a+x rc.local chmod a+x .aumixrc
5) and finally rebooted the computer

i get the following error

aumix: unable to open settings file

The problem is whenever rc.local runs aumix -L cannot open the .aumixrc

how to connect these two ?

Thank You

It seems from the aumix man page, that if you copy your settings file to /etc you have to name it "aumixrc" without the leading point.
Furthermore you could look at the -f switch in the man page.
