Startx
hello to everybody ,i've some problem running X server.
i tryed to type startx ( after configured using xorgconfig) but it doesent work this is what he says:
root@minni:# startx

Disable default depth from 24 to 16 in xorg.conf file.
Then restart X. your graphics card can't support this (24) depth.

You are trying to have the server run a colr depth (24) not supported by the driver. You are also using the default VGA driver. What hardware are you using?
Try 'xorgsetup' and see if that will get you going. If it does, use the resultant xorg.conf as a guide.

You need the ATI drivers. You can look at my sig for a link to DRI, and do a google search for your card to see if it is supported.

Yes, you can. Everything depends on the X server and the kernel version.
