Starting X programs as a different user


Is there a way to start X programs as root from a root login shell?

I generally get an error about being unable to open the display.

Nope, just fluxbox, I mean starting from a root login shell specifically.

Open a terminal
Login as root
type

export XAUTHORITY=/home/user/.Xauthority
