squid keeps stopping on my Cache Server

I have been using Slackware 10.2 and Squid in a school as a Cache server for over 1 year. All of a sudden, Squid will not stay running. I can start it, but a few minutes later it will stop again. I have cleared and rebuilt the cache and also removed squid and reinstalled. I have had no luck. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
