Unhappy Spice slackware install help?

Hello all,

I've been trying to find a slackware compatible build of Spice(circuit simulation tool for linux) with no luck. The default souce version of spice3f5 available from: http://bwrc.eecs.berkeley.edu/Classes/IcBook/SPICE/
doesn't want to compile correctly.

I would assume this has something to do with the way the slackware distribution is organized?

I have also downloaded and tried an install of an rpm version of spice that has worked under other distributions for me(mandrake and redhat) but it relies on libreadline.so.3 which I can't seem to find for slackware9.1.

I'm at my wits end!! Can anyone lend me some help? I rely on spice for school, but haven't had a need for it since I switched to slackware until now.

If I figure this out, I am DEFINITELY going to make a slackware .tgz package available on my webpage so no one else has to deal with this problem.

Thanks all,
-Flecko

Ok, I figured it out, even though it seems there is no interest in this subject.

Anyways, if you wanna install spice3f5 under slackware 9.1, just download this package: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/app...ce3f5sbins.tgz

And BEWARE that it puts the binaries in /usr/local/spice/bin, and not /usr/local/bin

Best of luck everyone!

Hi there... this reply is a little late but for the record I've been using spice opus. Works fairly well but is limited to 100 nodes which is still a fairly large circuit for spice.

hope this helps.
