Soundserver (artsd) crash (SIGABRT)

I'm having lots of problems trying to make arts work. I first tried installing a package of the last version, but it didn't work. It gave me the SIGSEGV error.

After that, I downloaded the source of the last artsd version and installed it. Now it gave me the error I put on the topic.

If I try to use a program like Amarok, it crashes showing me the SIGSEGV error too.

Alsa is working and I can listen to music with xmms using OSS, but I want to have arts back on track. The problem came up when I upgraded KDE from 3.2.3 to 3.5.3

Here is the backtrace of the error:

I had the same problem. http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=456441 Although you might want to reconsider using arts, it's probably the worst part of KDE (and I like KDE).

I've been using the latest KDE off the KDE/web-site and it has a new arts in it.

So far so good for amarok.

I find the xmms plug in to use arts still kind of tempermental.

I cant get artsdsp to do anything for games though like it's supposed to yet FWIW.
