sound quit after mplayer install
First let me say that this is the greatest community I've ever known. You are the greatest ppl.
The sound worked fine staight from install...did'nt have to do anything. Then I installed Mplayer. Now I have no sound at all. No system sounds, xmms makes the motions, visualizations going wild....with no sound coming out. I don't know any of the sound commands to trouble shoot or correct what's wrong. I don't want to re-install everything again. Thanks so much for your help past and present !!
are you using KDE or Gnome?
is aumix installed??
also bring up the kmix device and adjust the volume sliders and re-set as default, do the same with aumix also.

Am using blackbox on slack 9.0 . brought up kmix, all volume up, nothing muted. It's like something was disabled during mplayer install.
