Sound problem in Gaim 2.0.0-beta6

I have just upgraded to Gaim 2.0.0-beta6 and i have several problems:
1. /usr/local/var/lib/dbus/machine-id doesn't exist which can be fixed by executing dbus-uuidgen --ensure
2. Sound problem which is not yet solved up to now. In beta5, i can hear a sound when using Gaim, and when i upgrade to beta6, the sound disappear. I had tried to install gstreamer, but it's kindda useless.

I can hear music using Amarok just fine, so i guess there's nothing wrong with the Sound Server (arts).

Any solution?

Thanks before

How did you install? Did you compile yourself? If so, did you:
Code:
$ ./configure --prefix=/usr
$ make
$ su
# make install (or checkinstall?)

yes, i installed it from tarball as usuall
i use the default values,
Code:
./configure
make
make install
i used this since Gaim 1.5.0 release and 2.0.0-beta1 and it worked all the time. The problem only arose at beta6

As you said, now there is an issue...

Slackware uses the /usr prefix, not the standard /usr/local, so your progs are looking in the wrong place.

make uninstall, run ./configure --prefix=/usr, make, make install

i think i found the problem
it's because i still have old version of gstreamer and when i installed newer version, the system still looks up the old version. That's why the sound is broken
