Sound not functioning correctly in new Slackware 12.1 install

I've done a search for this and come up empty-handed...

So I've taken the plunge and finally installed Slackware 12.1 (I've been using 12.0 for ages). Everything seems to work correctly except for the sound.

I've tried using amarok, mpg123 and visiting youtube in firefox. None of them seem to play sound. The progress bars move but no sound is coming out.

I thought it may be an Alsa problem so I ran alsaconf, alsamixer and alsactl store without any problems. Everything seems to be in order, so I'm at a loss to explain it.

My sound card is a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and it was working perfectly fine in Slackware 12.0.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening? I've kept the same home directory with the same config files from 12.0, so that may have something to do with it.

Heh-heh, glad you got it working! I find that if setting up thingamybob.conf doesn't fix it then a re-alignment of the particle accelerator will usually do the job for me. ***(bad joke I know, sorry couldn't resist)***
