Unhappy SOS help needed

Alright I was trying to do something that seemed easy I probally stepped into a rats nest I didn't want to disturb.

I am tring to install Slackware 8.1 onto a third hard drive in my backup machine. I currently have Win98 on the first drive and data files on the second. It all went well until now, I booted off of the cd partitioned the drive in cfdisk and then went into setup.

Here is where I hit a wall the machine has been setting up my swap partition for over an hour and I'm afraid it is just going to sit there and run like this forever, the drive is known good I just formated it yesterday and tested it all was good.

Is there a rule about you can't install Slack on the third IDE slot or something that I don't know about.....

Help please I want to have this running by the end of the day so I can sleep well tonight and play with the new machine in the morning.........

Delete the partitions from 3rd disk (those you want to use for Linux) and try with the swap partition again.
