yep, 13.0 it looks like. That was around the time I put the old laptop aside and switched to the netbook as I needed to upgrade the drive again and SATA drives were cheaper than the few PATA drives I could find.
I dug that old box out last night and found the thread on video issues with it and it seems that there s some confusion around the x config. The reason there isn't a .conf file anymore is they made a directory and you make smaller separate config files there. It seems X will still use a .conf file in /etc/X11 but nothing I tried on the old laptop worked in it. So now that I got it to work with a small config file under the xorg.conf.d directory I'm thinking thats what I need to do on the newer one.
Part of my reasoning for getting off that old laptop (C400) was due to it using PATA drives and since the industry has changed to SATA I figured it would start getting harder to get big drives for it. I bought a little ASUS netbook which worked find except the power plug seemed to have issues. Actually had a pair, for myself and my wife, both the plastic case around the power plug melted and hers the system board died. Undersized plug or just poor components or something. The reason I choose those is they supported a full HDD instead of just an SSD because I have too much data to fit on any SSD that I can afford. But since the industry is changing again and all the small light laptops are going SSD I'm having to change to follow. So I bought another to use as a server and put my 1TB drive (from the netbook) with all my data in there and now just sync the most import and most recent data down to the laptop I'm using.
So now more flexible on hardware, will be able to buy a new laptop again with limited drive size.

Unless your boot sector is on a partition you cannot use UUID, use /dev/disks/by-id/ instead.
Apologizes for being part of the highjacking of this thread.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SLACKWARE, big thank you to Pat and all the Elves and Santa's helpers!

@ enine... Yup. I see what you have going now. Well, anyway... we should probably let the thread go back to its regularly scheduled topic now.
Take care and luck with that Intel situation.

Can I make a subscription without receiving the discs?
I want to pay per release, but I don't need the discs to be shipped. Somehow a win-win situation for both, isn't it?
Is that possible? I feel it's high time to donate per release, while I only sometimes order in the store (the shirts just last too long )
I have to say that donating from CH to US is just too expensive, I'm trying to find a way where the bank doesn't get that much (around 1/5) of the donated sum. Thanks

Wil you recognize two Slackware Alumni on a picture on this page?
TIP: they are listed on Slackware's About.
So, don't be surprised that Anaconda be a good installer

You can make a donation without a purchase. I mention details here.

I remember those old CD's. I had to make all the floppy disks to do the install.

Happy Birthday Slackware.
I like more than yesterday but less than tomorrow.
My slack here was compiled in 2010 and it work as first day, or better.
Is the best.
Long life to slackware and Volkerding.

Apparently there will be an article about Slackware in Issue 6 of Linux Voice magazine, which is being delivered to subscribers about now. I saw the (S) logo and a favourable sentence of blurb through the shrink wrapped cover of someone else's copy yesterday, so that's all I know. The magazine's dead-tree-only-for-nine-months-and-then-CC-BY-SA business model means we'll all be able to read it next April... if we're spared...

I finally dug in and got it fixed. The X config has changed and I was doing it the old way.
