Happy birthday and huge thanks Slackware, Pat and the former and current crew.

I just hope that wasn't root beer that you spilled as that's toxic even for the grass

I hope I''ll have an occasion to welcome you in France, so you can taste really good red wine instead.

0x15 = 21. Would certainly be a fitting release number for this year.

You should say:
ARE WE THERE YET???

I predict September. Have to polish my crystal balls and examine a few cats' entrails to get a more precise date.

Nah, even if Pat announced the first BETA/RC today, it'd be pushing it to release in Sept.

I've not been following -current this cycle, so have no idea how close to being ready for BETA/RC we might be. ARE WE THERE YET?

Usually it comes right after I finish upgrading all my systems to the current release. But this time I finished a few months ago and no new release.

Happy birthday and thanks Pat and the crew

No matter how hard I try I keep coming back to Slack. There's just something magnetic about it :-)

not yet. for example, slack14.1 out of the box contain a bit old xfce - without including keyboard layout switcher, and without possibility to have different wallpapers on each desktop...

No hurry. "When it's ready" has always been soon enough for me.
ARE WE THERE YET?

Actually I've had more problems with 14.1 than any other Slackware since IIRC 10. I skipped one version somewhere back then.

Out of curiosity I've read some threads that you started, and it appears that when someone makes a suggestion you don't give much feedback, as e.g. trying an alternate X video driver, or setting it differently. This is unfortunate for two reasons:
  1. This doesn't help us to help you.
  2. This doesn't help to solve similar problems that others could encounter.
