Sony minidv handycam usb problems
 

I'm trying to connect my camcorder to slack9.1 when I connect it the computer freezes. I have one other usb device which is my mouse. I looked at the log and it's the usb hub not being able to allocate resources. I'm not at that computer now so I can't give you the exact message. I think it's more of a usb problem than the camcorder problem. I had the same problem in redhat 9, and never thought about fixing it becuase I hook it up to my laptop instead, but now I want to use the camcorder as a webcam or security camera. Any suggestions on programs out there for detecting movement or similar for webcams?

i am having the same problems as the other guy with his sony 101e.when the camera is turned on in vcr mode it blue screens the pc with error message. stop: 0x0000007(0xc000005,0xf8797ba6,0xf8347874,0xf8347574.
usbhub.sys-address f8797ba6 base at f8796000, datestamp3ca8e12a.
