If you want to discuss this Live ISO, do so on my blog page on that subject, and do not abuse this generic thread. Also, use all-caps once more and I will gladly add you to my ignore list. |

On a small scale, he made me look seriously at Slackware* - which I, at least, consider a benefit. *My first and continuing reaction being "I really wish that I had done this much earlier". |

Hi,
Now that we have Slackware64 Live, I have created the section Slackware64_Live in Slackware®-Links This will allow me to keep everyone up to date with Alien_Bob's work for Slackware64 Live. I for one think this is something very special for Slackware users both new & old to allow us to show what Slackware can do by providing a Live session. Talk about a walking distribution! I can just pull out my flash, plug it in an show others what Slackware can do. :) Another big 'Thank You' and appreciation for the work done by Eric on the best Gnu/Linux available. Slackware lives on with a new Slackware64 Live! Hope this helps. Have fun & enjoy! :hattip: |
Beta 3 is just around the corner. Will have the latest Slackware64-current and a working UEFI boot (that was my milestone for Beta3). I have themed GRUB for the UEFI boot so it looks quite similar to the Syslinux boot screen I use for BIOS boot.
The Plasma 5 ISO will have the (not yet released) Plasma 5.5.1 as well as (also not yet released as a package) LibreOffice 5.0.4. Plus a lot of other goodies from my repository. The XFCE ISO will still fit on a CDROM and then there is the regular Full Slackware64 ISO of course. I will not create new ISOs for Mate or Cinnamon, because my server disk space is almost full. Release... hopefully tomorrow. |
So you want to be a Slacker! What do I do next?
Great news ! Thanks for all this awesomeness !
