slpkg installation

Im trying to install slpkg from github and following the instructions on the readme file, which are very simple:
-Download latest release
-$ tar xvf slpkg-3.2.8.tar.gz
-$ cd slpkg-3.2.8
-$ ./install.sh

but nothing is happening... this is what I did:
Downloaded the source code slpkg-3.2.8.tar.gz from https://github.com/dslackw/slpkg/releases
then I did the following:
Jean # tar xvf slpkg-3.2.8.tar.gz
Jean # cd slpkg-3.2.8

until here everything is ok, then I typed the following:
Jean/slpkg-3.2.8 # ./install.sh
Jean/slpkg-3.2.8 #

But NOTHING happens, What am I doing wrong? Is the packet created somewhere? Do I need another file inside this folder to install it successfully?

I don't know how that install.sh script works, but you could just grab the pre-built packages available on that release page as well. Then just run installpkg on the package and you'll be ready to use it.

I found my error... after uncompressing the source code I deleted it and proceeded with the rest of the steps... I never imagined the ./install.sh would require the tar file if IT WAS EXTRACTED from there... this is kind of recursive. I thought all the required files were already in the folder. Sometimes linux goes against logic...
