Slow X when setting locale to zh_CN.GBK

Just reinstalled Slackware 9.1 today, and encountered a problem - after setting locale to zh_CN.GBK, startx is extremely slow, no matter I choose what window manager (fluxbox or windowmaker). Top shows process X is consuming 100% CPU. After very long time (at least 80 seconds) the fluxbox interface is shown... Don't know why...

Change back locale to C and the same thing took only less than 5 seconds. Change to zh_CN.GB2312 and it was slower (about 20 seconds). Does anyone encounter the same thing before? I don't have this problem previously on either of my two PCs.

Thanks in advance!
