Slow fluxbox after reset...

Dear guys,

well there I am i've fired KDE the other day from my box and now I am using fluxbox. It was running fairly fast until yesterday, when I did lend my computer to my mum, I went away and she didn't know to turn ppp off so she pressed the reset button....

Now I didn't do any benchmark on this or anything but all of my web brosers are a little less responsive since this happened and it annoys me because the computer was really fast after I fired KDE.

The other possibility could be that I did try to clean the hard drive of the KDE install lately with pkgtool, is there anyt libraries that KDE shares with fluxbox and could slow down the thing if they're not there???

Anyhow, last time I let my mum get on there, she can use suse

Thanks

Flux (mine, at least) is linked against libs from following packages:
Code:
/var/log/packages/cxxlibs-6.0.3-i486-1
/var/log/packages/elflibs-9.1.0-i486-2
/var/log/packages/expat-1.95.7-i486-1
/var/log/packages/gcc-3.3.4-i486-1
/var/log/packages/gcc-g++-3.3.4-i486-1
/var/log/packages/x11-6.8.1-i486-3
/var/log/packages/zlib-1.2.2-i486-2
Found like so:
Code:
ldd `which fluxbox`|awk '{print $1}' > fluxlibs
grep -lf fluxlibs /var/log/packages/*
None of them is related to KDE. As for the performance-issues:
hard to tell with that info; have a look at the output of top
(check whether CPU gets hogged) ... check your connection speed
and check your interface for package errors (ifconfig).

Cheers,
Tink
