Slax: Slackware LiveCD

I am trying out SLAX, the Slackware LiveCD, and I have a problem. I am using Kopete because for Gaim I need to compile and stuff which is really confusing to me. So I use Kopete, which works for AIM, but not for MSN. I am SURE my MSN info is correct because it worked on Windows. I already checked to make sure the ports were right and everything. Help?

what version of kopete are you using, you probably just need to update to the latest version and if SLAX is true to slackware maybe you could try installin gaim by getting a slackware package from slackware.com or linuxpackages.net.
