Your computer cannot function without programs loaded in ram... In other words NO there is no way to load an OS without it using RAM...

You're obviously right, but cheetaman's problem is that Slax is loading the WHOLE disk image into ram on boot, instead of referring back to the CD as necessary, so it's a problem of extremes.
OK. Mine works just fine. Download a new copy of MySlax and Slax Standard, making sure your md5 sum is correct, and try it again. Also, give one of the other Slax sources a try, perhaps KillBill. After this, if you have the same problem, report it as a bug to the MySlax people.
As an aside, I prefer to copy2ram if there's enough ram, I hate waiting for the CD drive to spin up.

ntfsprogs-1.11.1.mo-this was made by renaming .tar.gz to .tgz could this cause ram mode and could you rebuild this as a .tgz from source and upload it so i could convert it to .mo
Ok, I think I figured out what mountextra is. Now, what are you putting where?
/modules
/optional
/extra I especially need to know what's going here, otherwise you wouldn't need mountextra.
OK, I assumed you meant just .jpgs and .pngs, so I went ahead and threw some artwork into /extra and burned the iso to disk. I have no problems running from CD. Have you tried getting a new copy of MySlaxCreator? The only thing I can think of is that your copy is corrupted somehow. Get a new copy of the source iso while you're at it, and try again. If you're still having problems, it's gotta be a bug!
