Do you have more than one cdrom?
If you do, only the one selected as the Secondary Master will be used for bootable cd's
Microsoft also has an XP boot (it may also be recovery) disk you can download from their website. Actually i think its a set of disks. I've only used them once, so i don't remember. I think you can get to the recovery console with them.
when you boot off of the windows xp cd it will give you an option to "create a new installation" or "Repair an exhisting one"
push R
Then when it boots to the recovery console type "fixmbr"
as far as uninstalling, you just erase the partition with linux it on it.
