I dowloaded a Slax live cd linux distribution and in stalled onto my hard drive. Now it has messed everything up and i do not know how to uninstall it. It alsl fails to load during boot from my C: directory. I installed on the swame drive where my Windows Xp home edition located. Can anybody give any suggestions on how to uninstall it or do I need format it. How do I format my hard drive? I tried to intall the cd with my windows os, but would not load if I prompted it to load from the cd drive by click esc button and selecting cd as primary booter. What do i do in this case? Can it mean that I am scrued?

Do you have more than one cdrom?
If you do, only the one selected as the Secondary Master will be used for bootable cd's

Microsoft also has an XP boot (it may also be recovery) disk you can download from their website. Actually i think its a set of disks. I've only used them once, so i don't remember. I think you can get to the recovery console with them.

when you boot off of the windows xp cd it will give you an option to "create a new installation" or "Repair an exhisting one"

push R

Then when it boots to the recovery console type "fixmbr"

as far as uninstalling, you just erase the partition with linux it on it.

You did not looses me Microsoft; just i am very new to open software, especially to linux distributions.

I tried a couple times, but it won't recognize my cd in either drive. The main proble is that i cannot burn any cds or write to floppy drive in slax live linux. It just messed up everything; i mean everything.

So. I have a windows xp pro cd, and need to make my xp to load, but not the slax live linux. I accidently installed on the same harddrive as my windows xp. I there any way to do it with out cds? Or give me suggestions on how to creat a boot disk by using slax linux?

Can you get any CDs to boot at all?
Do you know anyone who could download the XP boot discs as mentioned above and burn them for you?
