slax
I'm trying the slax live cd and so far i really like it,i'm thinking of installing it on the hard drive but first since i'm new to linux i downloaded firefox but i don't know how to install it i right clicked on firefox but there was no extract menu.Can anyone help me to understand how to install in slax?

Ok...what's the point of installing Live CD on a HDD when you have original SLackware you can Install on HDD?

I tried to install the new slackware everything went fine until the end where it asked to type in root password and i couldn't type anything,i'm using a newer laptop by the way.When it asks about the keyboard should i leave it as it says us key board or is there a different setting for a laptop?

By default on Linux when some program ask for your password doesn't show any character to avoid * counting. So type it even if you're not seeing a * for each character.
You could install Slax to harddrive using this mini-howto: http://slax.linux-live.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5044 But you'll need to create and format the partitions for it, it's not easy as selecting a menu in firefox. |
