slapt-get packages

I've haven't used slapt-get and was wondering how trustworthy are the packages. I use slackbuilds usually but wondered how many slackers use slapt-get.

Depends on where you point slapt-getrc to go look for packages. You can have it point to any mirror of your choice.

From http://slackbuilds.org/:

Quote:

There are a few well-known third party package repositories, but many users justifiably do not want to install untrusted packages on their systems.
I, personally, use only stuff from SBo and AlienBob (LibreOffice), src2pkg being the only exception.

I would also add that rworkman has packages that I and others deem trustworthy.

Ponce also has some nice packages and can be considered trustworthy.

No problem so far...
I usually point slapt-get to slacky.eu (GohanZ) and didn't had any trouble yet.
Didn't runa a production server either yet.
Only breach ever I had on webmin and it's 10000 port :( - mine fault and mine alone.

However, I configure my slapt-get rc file by hand and point it only to:
Alien
Rlworkman
Slacky
A slackware mirror for patches
I comment out all else.
:hattip:

I have always used slapt-get for GSB and have never had a problem, just make sure the rc file is configured properly
