Slapt-get Help

I've been messing with linux for awhile now, im pretty good with it. Today I tried installing a few things, such as wine and slapt-get, I "tar -zxvf filename.tgz" when I run that command it just makes a few folders, install and usr mainly. Theres no makefile or configure, where do I go from here or did I already get off on the wrong foot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im running Slackware 10.2 Kernel 2.6.10.

Been awhile since I used Slapt-get, but as I recall it is already in Slackware package format. All you need do is installpkg slap-get.(whatever version you have).tgz and it will install.
