Thanks for this, @kingbeowulf! I've just installed it here, but it didn't work for me. That's fine... I'll just keep 20.40 until your ROCm attempt arrives.

Hello AMD OpenCL fans!

I'm having a few problems with my AMD CPU/GPU boxes. On the Ryzen 9 RX5700XT (main system, daily driver), the 1.5 yr old 32GB of 2x16GB DDR4-3600 DIMMs failed: oodles of memtest8+ errors. So those were ent back and I hope to get the warranty replacement in a week or so. In the meantime, I've cannibalized the Ryzen 7 (RX590 or GTX960, depending on whim) that serves mainly as a server and info terminal etc (gopher, mumble, valheim, gridcoin wallet, BOINC, music flac repo) for its 16 GB 2x8GB DDR4-4400 DIMMs. I'll buy more memory when the wallet allows!

The Ryzen 9 RX5700XT is also having some weird amdgpu kernel crashes. Not sure if its the GPU or what.

I'll close this thread until I get my hardware fixed. I will open a new testing thread for the new(est) AMD OpenCL and ROCm then, and once I figure out the bizarrely arcane and convoluted ROCm build system and dependencies.

I use 20.40 but is very old now and may no longer work well with Linux 5.18.12: would like to test the newest (22.20?).
