slackware64 and nvidia error message
hello,
I downloaded from slackbuilds the slackbuilds for he driver and the kernel. After that i downloaded from the nvidia site the 64 bit driver. Building went good but when i did nvidia-switch --nvidia i get a message that libglx.so is missing. What went wrong here ? Roelof |
Almost none of the scripts at SBo have been ported to work with Slackware64. nvidia-switch --nvidia does not exist in the nvidia driver it is a custom script provided by the maintainer
of the SBo nvidia build. |
Oke,
If I understand it right, if a change the driver to nv in my xorg.conf everything must work right. But i cannot change between the nvidia driver and the xorg driver. Roelof |
The nvidia (and many other) SlackBuild scripts at http://slackbuilds.org are not compatible with slackware64 at this moment.

Just download the nvidia 64 bit linux driver from the nvidia homepage and follow their instructions, it installs just fine on Slackware64-current.

Had the same problem and solution.
My understanding was, that most scripts at SlackBuilds.org are 64-bit ready, but not the NVIDIA thingy and a few other exceptions. gargamel |
