Slackware Windows X Configuration
I have installed slackware 9.1 onto another system of mine. But I am kind of stuck. Everything is installed but I have no GUI. When I boot it loads everything to to the root login on the bash shell. Can anyone refer me to configure Windows X properly? I have tried dropline gnome. The system is not connected to the internet at the moment so I had to load the dropline package onto floppy and try loading it through bash, but no success.
Thanks, CK |
Slackware runs level 3 by default, you can startx or telinit 4 to open X session

As far as booting straight to a gui, I changed my initab file to have my system boot to level 4 instead of level 3. Level 3 is a bash CLI and level 4 boots straight to KDM or GDM. |
or even the slackware book that is on disc 3 or located on the slack website.
