Slackware v13-64, No Sound, HP G60 and HP G70 series laptops

Are any of you here using a HP G60 or a HP G70 series laptop and Slackware v13-64?

If you have sound with this hardware and software mix, how did you do it?

Have you tried running alsaconf as root, to see if it detects your hardware?

Also have you checked everything in alsamixer to make sure nothing is muted? I've never done a slackware install where there wasn't something to unmute.

Yes, to the best of my knowledge it does. <alsaconfig store> does show up at the end of the boot up process; I go in with levl 3 not 5.

I've heard that these newer HP laptops MAY have a newer sound chip or the like which the current Linux kernel may not be interacting properly with and want to see if I'm the only one with this problem. If there are others out there with these type laptops and they have sound when using Slackware v13-64, I'd like to know how they did it ...

Thanks for getting back.

I've found that to be true as well. Everything was un-muted but still, no sound ...

... most annoying.

Thanks for the interest.
