Yes, to the best of my knowledge it does. <alsaconfig store> does show up at the end of the boot up process; I go in with levl 3 not 5.
I've heard that these newer HP laptops MAY have a newer sound chip or the like which the current Linux kernel may not be interacting properly with and want to see if I'm the only one with this problem. If there are others out there with these type laptops and they have sound when using Slackware v13-64, I'd like to know how they did it ...
