Slackware subscription problem


I had a subscription to slackware from probably 8 to version 9. I cancelled it prior to the release of version 10. However, I still received and was billed for 10. I called the slackware store and sent an e-mail and never got a response. I called my credit card company and filed a fraud charge against the store and finally got a call back from Slackware. They told me they cancelled my subscription and I would no longer be billed. I received version 12 today...

I called and left a message and I am awaiting a response. I am really not happy that I continue to be charged for the subscription when I have been told it was cancelled. I will have to file another fraud charge against Slackware if I do not receive a response.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a better way to get in contact with the company? Anyone else had this problem? This does not seem like something I would expect from Slackware...

I have sent e-mail to info and webmaster@slackware...I don't know his e-mail. I assumed the proper form of contact would be to use the numbers and e-mail information provided by the slackware store. I would be happy to try an alternative form of communication however.

I have had email contact with a woman who runs the Slackware store several times and I always received an answer within two days.

Got a response

About 2 hours after my post I got a response from the slackware store. A lady called me and I talked to her about my account. She looked up the subscription and said that I was entered into their system multiple times. They had cancelled my subscription previously but since I was in there several times they were still shipping to me. I was told that all the entries they had made for me into their database are now cleared up and I should no longer receive shipments. The good thing is they refunded my money for this shipment. I never did receive refunds for the previous years shipments but at least next year (supposedly) I should not be charged again for another shipment. However, the lady that talked to me seemed to have an attitude that it was my fault this had happened. She was nice in refunding my money however the tone she took with me was condescending which was not very good customer service at all. Either way - I'm just glad to have that over with.

Doesn't sound too odd to be honest. My subscription was just canceled out of the blue with no input from me. Card was still valid and funds available... They just stopped billing me. I didn't bother inquiring as to why. Just downloaded it instead...

Seems like the Slackware store could use some house keeping. That was my impression anyway...
