They exist here, but they cost around 35 euro a year, and that's what I don't want. And most standard bank cards (debit cards) are not accepted for payment in web shops. I have already an PayPal account, and that's in almost all the cases sufficient in European web shops.
There are more people in this forum asking for a 'PayPal button' on the Slack store...

I would think something like this would be doable if you do a lot of International purchases.

Little steep initially but doable for multiple purchases. I would think there would be other ways than just PayPal.

CreditCards are not so 'common' in Europe or The Netherlands,. yes they do exist, but debitcard payments are 'the standard'. 35 euro's a year is about the standard rate for a creditcard, and as long as I don't need it, I won't be getting one.

Anyways: I didn't sent Theresa an e-mail yet,. just since I couldn't be bothered: The PayPal button is there, I took the effort diggin up the Paypal account info,. donated,. and got a message weeks later that Theresa hasn't bothered to get a paypal account.. How demotivating is that? The store is US based, shipping rates to europe are sky-high, and the only money that's accepted isn't available for me. I decided to buy a DVD in an online shop ( Linux-Onlineshop.de -> 13.1 ain't officially available ) or at a 'reallife' store. But haven't gotten to that either...

Theresa is known not to be quick in responses ( I read, in this thread ).. but I'll take the plunge and I'll go ahead and e-mail :) ) Keep you posted!

Slackware's philosophy is free of choice, but you don't have a choice by the Slackware store. You have to have a credit card.
The re loadable gift card from CardRex is quite expensive in my opinion, like other prepaid credit-cards.
Why no PayPal? The world is bigger than the USA.

When I first tried, about 3 or 4 releases ago, they didn't accept PayPal or my Maestro debit card. And when I finally got accepted recently because I had a Visa debit card, I don't remember seeing that PayPal button. It might have been there then, not sure.
Alien Bob's put a hell of a lot of work into the present releases (multilib, ongoing KDE stuff) and he has a PayPal donation button, so while you're all feeling generous... :)

I have tried on several occasions to donate with paypal but the money keeps getting returned with a message that their paypal account hasn't completed the registration process. I have sent messages to both Theresa and Pat about it but there was no response. I have money waiting to be donated, but oh well.

Since I downloaded the iso's, I need not to buy the DVD'set.
I use Slackware@Work and @Home and I just wanted to do a donation to the team. Ain't accepted.

Shop things are cool, but shipping rates are just to high. I opted to start a euroslackstore: to keep shipping low (buy in bulk) and euroslackers happy,. Didn't get much response though.
