Anyone else have any problems with ordering slackware 9.0 or subscribing? I started my subscription with 9.0. I never got any type of e-mail confirmation. After a week I sent an e-mail to the webmaster@slackware.com, info@slackware.com, and support@slackware.com and have received no reply whatsoever.
It just pisses me off that no one there will even reply to say that there might be a delay in shipping or that my order didn't go through properly.
I just thought I should vent here, since they won't answer any of my e-mails.
I ordered a mouse pad last week from there and did not recieve any kind of email, even after I emailed them about one. But I did recieve the mouse pad a few days later with a receipt, but still no confirmation email.
Yeah, the same thing happened when I bought slackware 8.1.
I received the cd set about 5 days after ordering it (fast), but never received a confirmation. But this time I have yet to recieve anything. I especially wanted to confirm because I signed up for the subscription, not just a one-time purchase. I just wish they would reply to e-mail.
The reason I buy them is because I want to help support what they do. I'm also on a broadband connection, so it's no problem to download iso's. You won't however see me buying a redhat distro.
Since 9.0 was just released, the files have to be sent off and be pressed and then packaged etc. This takes some time. So you will probably want to allow about 30 to 45 days.
But I agree that there system could at least send an automated mail message just to confirm the order was processed and possibly an order number so it can be tracked if required.
I ordered Slack 9.0 last week I think and my CC was charged on 27MAR03. So I think they would be real close to shipping.
