Slackware stays crispy in milk

It's true. ;-)

And Netscape Communicator sure brings back memories...

MensaWater 07-05-2012 04:01 PM

As a kid I always thought the makers of Cap'n Crunch cereal should choke when they used the phrase "Stays crispy, even in milk" in their commercials. This was because in fact the cereal would dissolve into sludge if not finished within 30 seconds of pouring milk on it. Not only was it not "crispy" - it was no longer distinctly separate pieces.

Cap'n Crunch is like eating a bowl full of razor blades. I never ate the stuff til I was 25, but had no idea just how abrasive that stuff was. I guess I ate it in the first 30 second window eh?

That's one reason why I didn't eat it. I likened it more to eating broken glass, but razor blades work too.

Maybe the changed the product somewhere along the line. My "kid" years were long ago (as were those commercials).

I can NOT believe someone clicked on the button indicating they found your post "helpful". Did someone actually solve a problem based on it? "Hmmm my mouth has been bleeding every morning for years. Let me check out LQ. Hey it says Cap'n Crunch is like razor blades - that explains everything!".

Netscape?! You noobs don't know what fun is if you didn't start your web surfing with Mosaic. :p

chess 07-06-2012 09:43 AM

Oh, I remember Mosaic and all of its lovely gray background and icons. The good old days!

fskmh 07-06-2012 02:04 PM

No need to settle for memory lane folks, if you find yourself snorting in derision at the thought of newfangled gadgets like browser tabs and mouse wheels there is still hope for you :p

I feel my sage like advice and experience should be a message to others of what not to do.

Yeah...and I'll bet you shake your cane and yell at kids when they go on your lawn. :D
Heh-heh, I also ran Mosaic. I remember the Internet before the new-fangled jpegs started showing up. Your post reminded me of those days.

SAGE? You're in the System Administrator's Guild? :p

Those kids on my lawn changed the name of SAGE to LISA. Darn whippersnappers! Who is this Lisa chick? :D
