Slackware sound problems- only getting sound through my pc speaker

Hello,

After going in to the alsa mixer, I've turned all my levels up. It detects the sound card i'd like to use but only plays through my pc speaker?

Curiously whenever KDE starts, the welcome sound plays through the correct speaker.

So which app doesn't use the sound-system?

I'm mostly testing it using firefox and playing anything on youtube. I can hear it but only out of the pc speaker.

Hmmm ... I don't use KDE myself, and FF produces sound on my Slack64 13.1
machine just fine; I'll move the thread across to our Slackware sub-forum
in the hopes that some other Slackers (using KDE) can shed some light.
