Slackware Security Advisories

I purchased the Slackware 9 4-CD set. The CD's have March 2003 printed on them. So if I go to Slackware Security Advisories
I am assuming that I would basically just need to install the packages/patches (whatever you call 'em) from April onward. Or, I suppose, maybe some of the end of March dated advisories. I mean, that seems obvious, but...

Also, do all of you slackers go there periodically and install these advisories?
For a relatively fresh, full install of slackware, are the instructions provided within those advisory pages enough to get the job done or are there other caveats to consider?
This one seems a little scary to me.

A month or so ago I burned a CD with all of the updates on it, carry it around for installs. The ptrace bug is a big one if you don't trust local users or fear that you might have left a gap open that will allow for execution of arbitrary code even as an unprivledged user.

If you're running a machine exposed directly to the internet, yeah go ahead and install them. I do.
