Slackware Samba server not visible

I am trying to set up a Slackware 11 box as a home server. It is wireless connected to a router. The other main PC (Suse 10.1) in the house is hard-wired into the same router. Both PCs are assigned IP addresses by the router and they can ping each other happily.
(I had problems even with this and posted previously here:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=527384

but the simple connectivity issue seems now to be resolved)

Both PCs are set up to start samba on boot-up but while the Slackware box sees two Samba servers when you ask it to findsmb, the Suse box sees only it's own server and cannot see the Slackware box.

Any ideas as to what is wrong and which box I need to fix?

Thanks

Perhaps you could post your smb.conf? Assuming you aren't using the default anyway.

Smb.conf is not the defalt as I have been trying to get it right with lots of hand-editing. Removing all the commented-out stuff it currently looks like this:

Code:
[global]
workgroup = TIGBY
server string = Tigby-Serv
security = user
hosts allow = 192.168.1. 192.168.2. 127.
log file = /var/log/samba.%m
max log size = 50
socket options = TCP_NODELAY
os level = 65
   domain master = yes
   preferred master = yes
   domain logons = yes
   wins support = yes
dns proxy = no

#============================ Share Definitions ==============================
[homes]
comment = Home Directories
path = /home
read only = no
case sensitive = no
strict locking = no
msdfs proxy = no

[printers]
comment = All Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
browseable = no
guest ok = no
printable = yes

[TS-Media]
case sensitive = no
strict locking = no
msdfs proxy = no
path = /media

[ROOT]
path = /root/
guest ok = yes

[Main_Shared ]
case sensitive = no
strict locking = no
guest ok = yes
msdfs proxy = no
read only = no
comment = Main Shared Directory on Tigby Server
path = /share/
browsable = yes
I have, as advised usually run testparm after changes to this file and the output from that command currently reads:

Code:
Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf
Processing section "[homes]"
Processing section "[printers]"
Processing section "[TS-Media]"
Processing section "[ROOT]"
Processing section "[Main_Shared]"
Loaded services file OK.
Server role: ROLE_DOMAIN_PDC
Press enter to see a dump of your service definitions

OK, it is solved. Nothing to do with the Slackware PC - it was the Suse PC that had a firewall setting which was stoppin g it from seeing the Slackware samba server. Once I switched off the Suse Firewall, I saw the Slackware samba server OK. I even found what it was in the firewall that was causing the problem so now have the firewall running again, and able to see the Slackware server OK.
