«Merde!», as they say. [1] Like other fellow Slackers I wish you the very best outcome from tomorrow's and the subsequent interview. You sure deserve it, Eric!

And finally a third interview with two senior managers to see if they can work with me. Only then, the company will decide on hiring me or not.
That 3rd interview is in 11 days from now.
This is for a cutting edge technology company.
I have no doubt you will succeed! The sanity of your SlackBuilds and willingness to assist PV and us says far more about you then any assessment.

I got the chance to talk about my work on Slackware :-) The new job will be challenging for me and push me out of my comfort zone, because of the deep technical aspects. When I said I am still busy with IT stuff and development after I go home, the Director replied, well then tell me all about it.
So this interview went well, at least that is my impression. The wait is for the 3rd interview, but the crucial steps have been completed.

A 3rd interview was not needed... I have the job if I want it. Next week, we will discuss the monetary and other terms. Win! My stress levels have decreased so much that I will have a look at the new Chromium and KDE releases this weekend.

I'm a product of the recession. I was laid off in 2009, 2 months after buying a house and a little over a year with my first company out of undergrad. I was on unemployment for a year of searching and doing odd jobs so I went for my PhD. Got a job no issue afterwards but the first job was...off. So thankfully this time I searched for and acquired a better job. The day I accepted the new job I was laid off...again. But at least I got a severance package this time!

I say all of this to make a point that I've been laid off twice and I'm so glad that your transition is like my last one and not my first. I've been checking this thread daily to get updates because my stomach was in knots for you. I've been there, it's awful.

Congratulations and thanks for all of your work.
