Slackware on Dell Latitude CPi D300XT has Wrong Resolution, No Touchpad
Howdy, I have installed slackware 10.2 on a Dell Latitude CPi D300XT and have the problem that when I start KDE it tries to run at 800x600 and that there is no touchpad. I set it to PS2 mouse at setup and that has worked for every other distro I have tried. How can I set it to use my touchpad and resolution? I have a synaptics touchpad and Neomagic video chip, and am running the 2.6 kernel.

Do you still run any of the other distributions you refer to on your PC in parallell with Slackware? If so - find and back up /etc/X11/xorg.conf from the other distro and copy to Slackware (note that you might have to upgrade your paths).
As for the Synaptics touchpad - have you tried this driver? http://web.telia.com/~u89404340/touchpad/ If you have a very wrong xorg.conf, it could be the cause of both the synaptics and the resolution problem... -Y1 |

getting there...
I edited xorg.conf so that the default resolution is 16 instead of 24 so that it runs with the correct resolution, but still no mouse. I edited the protocol to be imps/2 and I am going to try the driver.

One french installer had success copying X11 config file from knoppix live-cd. Good luck with touchpad. You have good leads.
